[ Since a disastrous memory swap in the streets? Since days after that when Alina tried to follow Ciri's normal schedule without being too obvious? Well, she's obvious now. ]

Lately. I haven't seen you in the city.

[ Alina may have already had a hard time trying to keep track of Ciri, considering she disappeared into the desert for about a week without coming home after the first couple days of the memory swapping nonsense. After that, she was back to her usual strange hours and wandering, going back and forth between the city and riding out to complete jobs. But Alina's right that she's vanished again, and this time so has Jaskier. The apartment they share above the bakery is empty for now.

Alina's message reaches Ciri when she's already in Aquila, and already absolutely sloshed. ]

I'm great! I'm at sea!

I mean, I'm visiting the sea. On the shore. Not in the water. I was in the water earlier, but not on a boat.

[ Oh no. Hold on. Trying to rein in her scattered brain cells. ]

Please don't tell me something is wrong?

[ Ah, well that's a relief that all is well with Ciri. She doesn't suppose Ciri really owes anything to her to keep her aware of her comings of goings, but confirmation of it stings.

Guilt digs itself a little bit deeper into Alina's chest. She is well aware that she's playing the hypocrite today. ]

No. No, nothing is wrong. I just wasn't sure what to think when you were gone. Jaskier too. I was just worried.

Aww, you missed me.

[ It's probably a good thing Ciri's in such a good mood (and rather drunk), so she doesn't immediately get annoyed or point out that Alina ran off in a much worse fashion on her months prior. ]

Jaskier is here too. We went to Aquila. It's nice. Julie and Nadine and Jaskier and me. They got me a cake for my birthday. Strawberry.

[ Guilty again, although this warms her chest a bit instead of making her veins run cold. ]

That sounds lovely. I would have gotten you something if I knew it was your birthday.
