Well. Maybe she's right, he realizes for literally the first time ever, finally having a reason to compare his uniform to what he is accustomed to on Gaia. Perhaps the issue is that he never expected otherwise, being so low on the military ladder.]

...So you're suggesting I should take a day to go shopping for clothes?

[Even so, what a laughable thought. Just look at him, okay.]

[ She brightens, apparently genuinely excited by this idea. ]

I'll come with you. You spend most of your time patrolling or at the barracks, isn't that right? Have you even properly explored the city when it's not for work?

[But Sephiroth is vain enough to not dismiss the idea fully.]

…If I take you shopping with me, you have to promise that I have some say in what I wear.

[He is under the impression that Ciri would have very Strong Opinions about every article of clothing chosen, whether good or bad.]

[ Oh, he is so transparent. Ciri snickers, giving him a very obvious up and down look. ]

Only some say? Very well. I will accompany you and have most of the say, since that's what you wish.

[ Give an inch, she'll take the whole yard stick. Especially when he's floundering so charmingly like this, pretending that he isn't. Don't let a lioness sense weakness!

Ciri gives his shoulder a little pat, then steps around to walk past him and sit back down on the sofa again. She's brought out another bottle -- vodka this time, and an accompaniment of some berries and desert fruit from the market. ]

Sit down. Get drunk. You don't have anywhere else to be tonight.

[It looks like he might be in over his head, but he’s committed to the idea — and if the whole thing unravels into Ciri picking out all his outfits, then he only has his past self to blame.

He exhales (pretending as if he does not look forward to the outing, just a little), and when she comes back around with the bottle, he raises his brows.]

It’ll take a lot more than that.

[For him to get drunk.]

But I welcome the challenge. Like you said, I have nowhere else to be.

[ Ciri rolls her eyes, jumps back up, and goes back to the kitchen. A brief amount of banging around in the cabinet, and she's back, dropping another bottle of vodka on the table beside the first with a satisfying thud. (They have money, and plenty of booze; Jaskier won't mind.) ]

There.

[ She flops down on the couch again, and if Sephiroth hasn't already taken a seat, he will get dragged down to join her. Once settled, she grabs one of the bottles, pops the cork, and shoves it in his direction. She does not offer him a cup.

Then, she opens a drawer on the side of the table and pulls out the velvet bag containing her deck of cards -- a gift from Jaskier, hand-painted and gilded at the edges. ]

You know any card games?

[Thankfully, he does not have to drag him down into a seat, having found himself sinking down comfortably onto the couch on his own. Sephiroth takes the bottle with some awkwardness, examining the liquid in the glass, though he does not reject the notion outright. He’ll drink — and looking at Ciri unearthing the cards, apparently, he’ll play, too.

None? [ Ciri looks genuinely surprised, and a little aghast. Cards are something most worlds seem to have, though in variations that may or may not exist here. But the basis for most games tends to have some overlap. The way Sephiroth says it, she's pretty sure he doesn't just mean he knows no games with these cards.

Seriously. How did you ever have fun before meeting me?

[ And she begins to lay out the cards, going over a couple of simple games they can start with. And some to work the drinking in with later too. ]
